About this artwork
In this work, I wanted to combine the practice of printmaking with a fragile, organic material like dried rose petals. On the background, created using an acrylic monotype, I superimposed two petals that house female figures printed from Tetrapak matrices using a pasta machine as a press. One petal features a single swimmer, the other two figures in motion. I was interested in the dialogue between the lightness of the gesture and the delicacy of…
the support: the bodies seem to pass through the flower as if it were a space to be temporarily inhabited. The fragility of the petals introduces a reflection on time, transformation, and the ephemeral nature of presence.
