About this artwork
This work is part of a series of personal tributes to the province of Cuenca (Spain), where each canvas takes the name of one of its towns to root abstract art in my own identity and territory.
However, the creative process behind this painting stems from pure intuition and the automatism of abstract expressionism. It is a visual meditation embodied through a multi-colored light that seeks to hypnotize the viewer, trapping them in a play between… reason and the subconscious. The entire essence and background of what one experiences when contemplating the work is summarized in these verses:
It hypnotizes my heart
what my eyes behold,
burst of color
that clouds my sane mind
and puts her into a dream
where she remains trapped.
