My version of the icon “Archangel Michael,” inspired by the work of Andrei Rublev, is a careful reinterpretation of one of the most poetic images in early Russian iconography.
The work preserves the canonical composition: a majestic yet gentle figure of the Archangel is presented frontally, with a delicately modeled face and a focused, contemplative gaze. The lines are smooth and rhythmic, creating a sense of inner calm and harmony—hallmarks of… Rublev’s style. The face is painted with soft transitions of ochre and pinkish tones, emphasizing the spiritual luminosity of the figure.
