About this artwork
This painting is my personal favourite from the collection—born on a sweltering summer day during a heat wave. As temperatures soared and the air stood still, I longed for the rush of cool water, the mist of a waterfall, the hush of being hidden beneath one. Since I couldn’t go find a real one, I painted it instead.
Layer by layer, this waterfall became my escape. As I painted, with a popsicle in hand and a fan humming beside me, the cool tones and… movement of water unfolded on canvas—soothing, refreshing, and just real enough to change the atmosphere of the day. This work reminds me how art can transport, transform, and ground us. It’s a little piece of relief, painted in the middle of the heat, and it continues to be a place I return to.
« My abstract surreal expressions, my art, is my ship, my sail, my voice, and mostly my contribution to the environmental conservation projects I have been able to help fund. »
