Marianne Schöfmann, also known as Maris, works primarily with acrylics, but is equally adept at watercolor, collage, and mixed media. She completed her training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Klagenfurt and has attended numerous workshops. Her techniques range from naturalistic and abstract to predominantly non-representational, and she adapts flexibly to themes and circumstances. Her works are preferably created without a fixed concept, thus conveying a powerful spontaneity, openness, and intense emotional depth.
