« 20.22 Breath » is the left painting of the diptych « 20.22 ». This diptych, part of the series « Les Incarnées », explores the moment when meaning passes from inscription to presence. The two panels (« 20.22 Word » and « 20.22 Breath ») exist in deliberate tension: one rooted in the density of the word, the other opening into an image shaped by light and movement. The diptych becomes a quiet study of emergence.
In « 20.22 Breath », traces of writing… remain beneath the layers of paint, no longer meant to be read. Light shifts and expands. A subtle motion crosses the composition, suggesting a presence that cannot be fully contained. What was once text now feels inhabited.
Read together, « 20.22 Word » and « 20.22 Breath » trace a passage: from the density of the word to the movement of breath. The inscriptions are not erased; they are transformed, carried forward into light and gesture. In « 20.22 », the word does not disappear; it becomes embodied.
