About this artwork
In Attraction, the power of the connection is manifested at the intersection of four paintings, united by a central light. Each of these fragments seems to come from elsewhere—from a different world, culture, or history—but all converge toward the same point: a common light source, symbolizing a shared aspiration.
The drawn shapes, though diverse in appearance, all point in a similar direction, as if drawn by an invisible but powerful force. This… movement suggests that, despite our differences in origin, beliefs, or experiences, a fundamental impulse unites us: the search for light, peace, and salvation.
The work does not impose a fixed unity, but reveals a harmony possible in diversity. It invites us to recognize the invisible links that unite us, beyond appearances, in a shared desire for elevation.
« Symbols result from the representation of human and social relationships through the modulation of lines, shapes, colors, and light. »
Marie Dione is an artist based in Senegal whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. Through her art, she invites respect for the identity of different beings, which she believes is vital for the unity and security of our environment. In her artistic approach, she employs African symbols as well as forms, lines, and colors that, by their modulation, through light and dark, suggest messages, ideas, and feelings.
