About this artwork

Flying Rose Petals
This painting makes me think of rose petals floating gently through the air, like they’re dancing in the wind. I wanted it to feel soft, light, and full of joy—like a beautiful moment that just takes your breath away.

As I painted it, I imagined a garden where the petals suddenly take flight, carried by a breeze, swirling and twirling with no rush to land. The colors came together naturally—some bold, some gentle—just like the… way petals mix on the ground after a bloom.

I created this piece with my mom in my heart. She loved flowers, and this painting is for her—and for all our moms who brought beauty into our lives in their own quiet, magical ways.

I hope when you look at it, you feel something peaceful… maybe a little magic, too.

Marie Manon Corbeil began to paint amidst personal challenges:‘Between sadness and hope, there was art’. Realizing that life’s difficulties provided her with a new means of expression, Corbeil wants to convey a sense of joy within her contemporary abstract works. She draws forms and writes positive words under each canvas before beginning a piece. Employing large brushes to provoke unplanned strokes, she also uses her fingers to optimize the vibrant colors in her compositions.
