About this artwork
Let me tell you about “Fragile and Beautiful.” This piece is all about that delicate dance between strength and vulnerability. When I painted it, I was thinking of how something as soft as a flower can weather so much and still bloom. The large petals, in rich shades of plum, red, and blush, seem to stretch out like they’re reaching for life, despite their fragile nature.
The soft background, with its layers of whites and pale grays, makes the flowers… feel almost weightless, like they’re floating in a peaceful dream. I built up a lot of texture here—thick, tactile areas that invite you to feel the movement and energy behind every brushstroke. I added pops of green and bright yellow to remind us that even in fragile moments, there’s always renewal and hope. And the text? It’s there like a quiet whisper—almost like the painting is sharing a secret with you.
This is a painting about embracing life’s delicate beauty and finding strength in those quiet, tender moments.
« I breathe art, I eat art and I am happy. Art is in my blood. Art is my life. »
Marie Manon Corbeil began to paint amidst personal challenges:‘Between sadness and hope, there was art’. Realizing that life’s difficulties provided her with a new means of expression, Corbeil wants to convey a sense of joy within her contemporary abstract works. She draws forms and writes positive words under each canvas before beginning a piece. Employing large brushes to provoke unplanned strokes, she also uses her fingers to optimize the vibrant colors in her compositions.
