About this artwork

Women are for Marie Rouach the symbol of strength and courage. Wherever they are and wherever they come from, they give life and protect it. In this painting, as is often the case, they are faceless, erased but still standing. The bright colors oppose the sadness of the theme, because women are still victims too often. The canvas is good quality acrylic paint, several layers for a non-smooth appearance.

Marie Rouach is an Israeli artist whose works have been exhibited in solo events in both Tel Aviv and Raanana. Though she has discovered the pleasure of creating abstract pieces, Rouach continues to paint portraits of women as a way of paying homage to all of the women in the world. Her artistic process involves the use of acrylics, translating abstract compositions onto canvas, and painting portraits on paper.
