About this artwork
I was inspired to create the painting by a story from the Bible, when God created Adam - the first man on Earth. Was Adam happy in the Garden of Eden, what he saw, what he was thinking about, why he decided to create a female companion for himself? And did he later regret what he had done? I created two paintings "Eve in flowers" and "Adam in flowers" as symbols of male and female principles, the first people on Earth, very different, but striving…
for each other. Two opposites that cannot live without each other.
The artwork was created using texture paste, acrylic paints and mother-of-pearl, varnished against dust and fading. The volumetric texture creates different facets of light and shadow depending on the lighting. The wide edges of the painting are painted and are its continuation.
