About this artwork
The painting "Three Comrades" depicts three roosters sitting on the branches of a tree. Each rooster is depicted in its own unique pose, and they all look in different directions, creating the feeling that they are in a state of reflection and considering their actions.
As you know, the rooster is a symbol of the sun, light, prosperity, as well as masculinity. Roosters do not like competition, so usually only one rooster lives in the coop. Two roosters… will definitely fight for territory. However, in this picture, the author depicted three roosters, each of whom is in no hurry to join the fight, since now the chances are unequal, and it is necessary to negotiate among themselves.
The number three has deep symbolic roots, these are the concepts of the past, present and future; earth, water and sky; life, death and rebirth. It is also the number of harmony, balance and completeness. It symbolizes the unity of three worlds: physical, spiritual and intellectual.
