About this artwork
This figurative drawing depicts a woman with a particular fondness for grapefruits. Created with ink and watercolor on paper, the work is part of a series dedicated to women who love fruit.
The lines are clean, precise, almost graphic, giving the character a strong presence. Touches of watercolor soften the overall effect: highlights of pink—reminiscent of the luminous flesh of grapefruit—emphasize certain volumes, bring freshness, and create a… direct link between the woman and the fruit.
The overall atmosphere is delicate and vibrant, blending the spontaneity of watercolor with the fine structure of ink drawing, to celebrate both the femininity and sensuality of the fruits.
« My work tries to transmit tenderness, serenity, and sometimes, melancholy. »
Marine Walon is a painter and draftsman based in France whose works have been exhibited nationally and in Argentina, where she trained. Her works focus on the representation of women and focus on emotion, exploring tenderness, serenity, and tranquility. The figurative compositions are characterized by their well-defined lines, contrasting with a more impressionistic background. The colors are saturated and contrasting. Marine is developing her own aesthetic.
