About this artwork
In creating this piece, I've merged the raw energy of expressionism with pop art's boldness and figurative storytelling. The fusion of acrylic and oil paints captures a moment of deep introspection, while the dripping hues and piercing gaze evoke a powerful emotional response. This artwork is a testament to the human spirit's complexity, aiming to stir contemplation and provoke a vivid dialogue between the piece and its beholder. Its presence promises… to infuse any space with a passionate and thought-provoking atmosphere.
« Paintings should not be loved. Only the "next artwork" deserves full devotion and interest. »
Mario Henrique is a passionate Portuguese painter who has exhibited his work in Portugal, Brazil, Germany and the US. Forever intrigued by the subtleties and double meanings of people's body language, expressions and looks, he composes works centred around people. He uses his portraits to represent the impermanence of facial expressions and unpredictability of human movements, and paints abruptly and spontaneously in drippings and splashings.
