About this artwork
Some stories never truly close, they either and rust over time. That’s exactly what I’m reflecting in this piece inspired by the decaying Beelitz Heilstätten building in Berlin.
As an artist, I live and work in Oberreifenberg in the Taunus region, near Frankfurt. I have self-taught and honed my artistic skills through numerous painting courses and workshops.
My formal education in painting includes studies at renowned art academies such as the Academy of Fine Arts in Kolbermoor, Kunstfabrik Hannover, the Academy of Contemporary Art on Lake Constance, and the Worpswede Art Academy. I have also honed my craftsmanship through working with wood, historic building materials, and restoring antique furniture.
This experience forms the foundation of my art. It gives my abstract works the strength, texture, and depth that define them. In my creations, I experiment with building materials, marble dust, limewash, and incorporate collages made from old fabrics, papers, and iron—materials rich with history. My art is a continuation of my passion for material, form, and transformation.
