About this artwork
The Masses 03, third alternative version (no. 1 was The Masses, acrylic on canvas- In private collection). Ink on paper mounted on wood. Masses of heads twine into each other, creating one big surface of faces and expressions. This is my interpretation of the masses. The masses have not one identity but lots of them, too much to keep apart. A mass of people is becoming an amorphous shape. We live in mass culture. The mass dictates and rules. It is…
this same mass that, in the end, creates and approves what ever we listen to or looking at. Like an inspector of mediocrity.
