About this artwork
Please note: This painting is in my studio in Poland and can be reserved, please enquire.
In this piece, I poured raw emotion onto the canvas with vibrant acrylics, blending expressionism and realism to reveal the soul beneath the surface. Each brushstroke captures a depth of feeling, drawing you into an intimate dialogue with the subject. This painting brings a powerful, reflective energy into any space, inviting viewers to explore the complexities… of identity and human connection. The portrait of Lucian Freud is the meeting point between the figure and his mirroring Freud’s own probing approach to the human form. Marks, textures, and fragments of shape float through the background, lending the image a sense of time layered and compressed. The work stands as both tribute and investigation, capturing the painter’s penetrating presence with an honesty as raw as Freud’s own canvases.
« In my landscapes and gardens, I find the soul in them and a piece of myself. In my figurative works, I look for the garden and landscapes of their souls. »
