In this piece, I captured the fleeting, warm nostalgia of summer afternoons. Using collage, pencil, pen, and colored pencil, I layered memories and emotions to evoke a dreamy, semi-abstract space where time feels suspended. The serene figures embody innocence and connection, inviting warmth and tranquility into any space, stirring a peaceful reflection on childhood and shared moments under a gentle sun.
This collage refers to my childhood and memories,… friends, long summer afternoons, and playing all afternoon. To make it, I used papers that I have kept for many years, clippings from old magazines, and negatives. The pencil drawings are recent and based on memory.

Martha Escondeur is an award-winning painter and sculptor based in Uraguay whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the Netherlands and Spain. Many of her pieces relate to the human being and are a translation of their experiences and emotions. Escondeur endeavors to capture what she observes in the "other", whether visible, clear, or subtle. In addition, symbolic meaning is often imbued her composition's narratives. She creates using oils, acrylics, and gilding on canvas.
