About this artwork
I’m absolutely fascinated by old engines, the fact that they’re so beautiful in their functionality. The craft is superb, a true expression of the Bauhaus credo: FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION.

Earth, Wind and Water...
Having grown up in Switzerland my connection with mountains is in my DNA. A lifetime of mountain touring and skiing only strengthened that relationship. Having been a two time member of the Canadian Parachuting Team gave me a lasting love for the air, and having rowed competitively for nearly fifty years I developed a deep relationship with the water. Living in Canada I spent a lot of time canoeing and hiking in the northern wilderness of Ontario. All these activities helped me to develop a very strong bond with nature and the main body of my work reflects this connection.
Having studied at the college of Fine and Applied Arts in Basel Switzerland I graduated with honors after 5 years in 1968. I then moved to London, then New York and ended up in Toronto, having worked for various Design Firms, in 1974. In 76 I started my own Company specializing in Packaging Design, Brand Development, Product Design etc. Over time it grew into one of the leading Design Group with multinational clients such as Krafi, Pepsico, Kellogs, Clorox, Wriggleys etc. Since 2009 I dedicated my time to fulltime painting returning to the UK in 2011 and Switzerland in 16.
I sincerely hope that these little paragraphs give you an idea as to who I am and what formed me.
