Martin “kafes33” Hirth (b. 1981) grew up in communist Czechoslovakia’s grey reality, where he was instinctively drawn to drawing and painting on anything within reach. As a teenager, he found his voice in graffiti, absorbing its raw energy and learning composition, color, and technique. He later studied graphic design, developing a fascination with clean vector lines, which he contrasts with the organic “dirty” traces of spray paint—a signature of his work.

After years as a freelance designer, client-driven compromises led to burnout and a key realization: he needed absolute creative freedom. He returned to his roots—spray paint, acrylics, and canvas—and began building a personal visual language.

Recently, he exhibited in Los Angeles. In 2024, he won the Art Grand Slam (Public Space) for a basketball court for NBA player Vít Krejčí and gained recognition for the “Pasta Jacket” created for NHL star David Pastrňák.
