About this artwork
The Heart is a key work from my current series, exploring the relationship between the human figure and inner emotion. Positioned between classical figuration and contemporary symbolism, the painting captures a moment when the body becomes a vessel of intense inner force.
The heart is not depicted anatomically but symbolically. Its presence is embedded in the monumental red drapery, whose folds and movement form the silhouette of a heart around… the figure. The deep crimson tone represents life, passion, and energy, shaping and lifting the human form rather than merely surrounding it.
The work is executed in acrylic on a 100 × 80 cm canvas, with a strong emphasis on light and shadow to balance anatomical precision with the fluidity of fabric. The Heart is intended for collectors who seek not only visual impact, but also emotional depth and refined symbolic meaning.

Martin Málek is a visual artist whose path to painting began at the Secondary School of Glassmaking in Valašské Meziříčí, where he gained both technical and aesthetic foundations.
