About this artwork
The image explores the cycle of life. The wave-like structure represents the flow of time with all its ups and downs, which the rhythm of life offers and demands. Depicted in the work are a seated person (right), a person/baby floating in the current (bottom center), an owl (top center, representing wisdom in difficult life situations/protection)...and a fish struggling through the water (top left center, symbolizing acceptance of the flow of life).
Martina Jakoby-Eckert, trained in art history, uses predominantly acrylic on canvas, complemented by playful graffiti elements. She is characterized by magical realism and abstract expressionism, with a deep appreciation for colors and their rebellious nature. Her lively large-format paintings allow complex emotions and inner strength to speak, allowing the viewer to discover their own stories.
