About this artwork
I was scrolling through Instagram and saw this video of a little girl showing her mom her costume. I connected so hard with this kid. I was that kid and continue to be her! I screenshotted a frame from the video and painted her. I used an earlier canvas on which I had made relief outlines of my face based on prints I made years ago. This piece is very special to me. I did reach out to her Mama, so I'm allowed.
