About this artwork
This painting illustrates a fantasy on the creation of the earth. Geology and rock formations, water, minerals... The rocks levitate above a lake of warm and yet frozen water, a hot-spring where life can grow and magical forces exist. This painting is slightly surreal but based on ancient geologic history. Asteroids that hit the earth millions of years ago planted minerals and precious metals offering the elements for the first life forms on…
earth. As a painter I am using paints that contain these elements and minerals as pigments that fly off my brush in strokes on the canvas which brings the concept in a full circle.
