About this artwork
The “Great Olive Tree” is more than a landscape motif – it is a
Landscape of the soul. In its ancient trunk, the vibrantly flowing colors
and the mighty, twisted branches reflect a deeply felt connection
between the outer and inner world. The tree becomes a metaphor for steadfastness, for
lived time and for the dignity of aging – and at the same time for an inner space in
where memory, feeling and change become visible.
My painting does not… seek escape into abstraction or complete
Dissolution of the objective. Rather, I want to transform the visible – with
Color and form, through intensity and expression. The freedom that interests me lies
not in the loss of form, but in its penetration with inner life. Thus
nature – in this case the ancient olive tree – becomes a mirror of inner processes: the
Torn apart, healing, diversity, vitality.

His distinctive pieces are created with acrylics and oils on canvas.
