About this artwork
At the center of this painting is a mighty, ancient tree – a natural being steeped in history and resilience. The trunk's form is clearly recognizable, yet simultaneously dissolved into many colorful layers and movements: bark, scars, growth folds, and traces of light merge into a vibrant, almost pulsating structure.
The colors are expressive and rich in contrast: warm reds and oranges meet cool blues and greens, creating a captivating depth. Lines… and branching patterns crisscross the image like an energetic network, reinforcing the impression of wildness and inner strength. Thus, the work combines realistic form with free, abstract color design – as an homage to the inexhaustible vitality of nature.

« The inner man cannot appear to himself without magic. »
Matthias Bargholz is an artist based in Germany whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and in Brazil. In addition, his art has been featured in publications such as the Ostsee Zeitung and the Hagenower Kreisblatt. Originally inspired by classical modernism, Bargholz views the line as an independant and active element in a composition, as well as being "the direct expression of intuition and the infinite possibilities of form". His distinctive pieces are created with acrylics and oils on canvas.
