About this artwork
The painting shows another ancient giant tree. Similar to the so-called "Süntelbuchen", which developed their shape through the browsing of livestock, this tree has grown into itself - probably also due to external influences.
Age is difficult to estimate. As a painterly motif it is of course very interesting. I live and work in the Schaalsee Biosphere Reserve in West Mecklenburg, Germany. I find myself in this old cultural landscape
Trees of this… age and in a similar shape are often found alone in a meadow or field.
These giant trees also have a great symbolic meaning for life force, endurance, etc.

« The inner man cannot appear to himself without magic. »
Matthias Bargholz is an artist based in Germany whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and in Brazil. In addition, his art has been featured in publications such as the Ostsee Zeitung and the Hagenower Kreisblatt. Originally inspired by classical modernism, Bargholz views the line as an independant and active element in a composition, as well as being "the direct expression of intuition and the infinite possibilities of form". His distinctive pieces are created with acrylics and oils on canvas.
