About this artwork
This painting is inspired by one of my trips to Japan, by a photograph taken in Tokyo. This city, so inspiring and luminous, profoundly marked me with its hustle and bustle and its almost magical effervescence, an intensity that I try to transcribe here.
I am increasingly realizing how essential travel is to building my inner strength, shaping it in my own image with the utmost sincerity.
The choice of these deliberately intense colours reflects… the energy and dynamism of this place, which is both dazzling and mysterious.
I dream of settling there one day. This desire often accompanies me in those fleeting moments when my mind wanders and imagines an artistic life elsewhere. But I also know that this path takes time. In the meantime, I channel this dream into my painting, as a way of giving it form and, I hope, drawing it to me.
