About this artwork
Each of my oil on canvas works is a long research that must respect the drying times of the colors, which starts from color backgrounds and then removes, digs, engraves, until you find the essence of the painting, with a unique technique created after many experiments.
In this painting, where enamels are combined with oil, the brightness of titanium white reveals ultramarine blue, magenta, marked by engravings that remind us of our ancestral need… to leave a mark.
Original work - certificate of authenticity - present in the artist's catalog n. 148 year 2017.
The surface, characteristic of my technique, is not as material as it might seem: if you caress the painting you find it perfectly smooth.

Maurizio Paccagnella is an award-winning Italian painter and sculptor whose works have been widely exhibited nationally, as well as in Morocco. Formerly a hyper-realistic artist, he abandoned this expression, as it has become too tied to formality and perfection. Paccagnella's artistic journey led him towards the path of abstraction, from which he creates blurred and evocative images that seem to "emerge from the memories of the time".
