About this artwork
Rust and Moss” is a 90x70 cm work that explores the suggestion of nature in transformation. This abstract painting represents the interaction between erosion and oxidation processes, evoking a sense of time and decay.
The use of rust and moss green tones creates a visual dialogue between opposing elements: the solidity of corroded metal and the delicacy of slowly growing moss. The rusty shades symbolize the erosion and transformation of matter,… while the traces of moss green suggest the resilience and regeneration of nature.
I used dense, layered textures to mimic natural oxidation processes, creating a sense of depth and movement. The eroded and corroded surfaces tell stories of time and memory, while the green spots evoke a return to life.
This work invites the observer to reflect on the beauty of transformation and the impermanence of things.
Mauro Caracuzzo emerges as a multidisciplinary artist, from figurative to abstract, excelling in techniques ranging from fresco to ceramic. His artistic exploration translates into works that mix delicacy and strength, through a very personal visual syntax. His creations evoke a profound emotional range, addressing the dichotomy of the human condition: loneliness and curiosity, hate and love, with a prevalence of the latter.
