Max Kuba, a German Expressionist and writer, has worked with oil and acrylic paints for over twenty years, incorporating his experiences from his studies and long career in the art and antiques trade into his painting. His style, which he calls "Pop Realism," combines so-called "Expressive Realism" with elements of "Pop Art." He integrates text fragments, symbols, and vibrant neon colors into sometimes collage-like images, occasionally supplemented by subtle allusions and figures. His works radiate joie de vivre, cheerfulness, and humor—they are expressive, energetic, and convey a joy in painting.
