About this artwork
“She Keeps Going” captures the tension between movement and resistance. Inspired by the physicality of dance and running, the composition reflects a body in motion - not fluid, not effortless, but driven forward despite strain.
The central structure bursts outward in sharp, directional strokes of saturated pink and deep magenta, evoking both impact and propulsion. These gestures are interrupted by sweeping, almost circular marks in softer tones,… suggesting repetition, rhythm, and the persistence of movement over time.
The contrast between the explosive core and the more diffuse surrounding strokes creates a visual push-pull: expansion versus collapse, control versus release. The layered paint, applied with force, preserves the immediacy of the gesture - each mark reads as a trace of energy rather than a constructed form.
Rooted in contemporary abstract expressionism, the work explores the idea that movement is not always synonymous with freedom.
