About this artwork
In this work, I used acrylics to explore raw emotions and incandescent passion. I capture the tumultuousness of feelings, while allowing bursts of joy to emerge through vibrant strokes of color. Each stroke is an expression of liberation, an affront to the ordinary. Welcoming this painting into your home is inviting a perpetual dialogue with boldness and spontaneity.
I began my artistic expression through architecture. Within the abstract expressionist movement, I depict the urban world, using reinforced polystyrene supports, thick paints, and techniques that convey verticality and conflict. My "rough" and complex works convey the unfathomable depths of the city and reflect my commitment to compositional rigor. A passionate pianist of "Bebop" jazz, I regularly play in a group, fueled by collective energy and the art of improvisation. This musical practice partly influences my pictorial work: I try to explore the correspondences between the language of Bebop - its motifs, its tensions, its rhythm - and abstract painting. My canvases thus become spaces for visual improvisation, where colors, shapes, and textures converse like the sounds of a jazz solo.
