About this artwork
This life-sized painting began as an exercise in blind contour figure painting. I put my hand and brush to the surface, closed my eyes, and began to paint without opening my eyes. "Seeing" only in my mind, I blindly worked across the canvas. After sensing that the basic lines were done, I opened my eyes. I loved the lines and flow, and decided to finish it with a monochromatic sienna palette.
Full size of the painting is 70 x 70 inches, leaving… ample canvas to stretch to its 65" x 65" x 1.5 image as shown. It is signed and back and ships in a tube. This is especially safe for oversized works. Rolled canvas can be easily stretched (placed onto wooden stretcher bars) and/or framed by a local framer upon arrival.

Michelle Louis is a full-time American painter based near Madison, Wisconsin, USA. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions, and included in corporate and private collections throughout the United States and worldwide, including the National Gallery of Costa Rica. Artist and naturalist trained in studio art, graphic design, and landscape architecture, Michelle Louis's studio extends to her yard, where she nurtures an edible landscape. She received her BA from the University of Wisconsin, USA.
