About this artwork
Luminous Passage" immerses the viewer in a nocturnal cityscape where architecture dissolves into liquid light. The canal, acting as both mirror and threshold, captures the dialogue between water and stone, silence and resonance. Here, the incandescent windows, vibrating with orange and gold, suggest an unseen human presence, while the boats—moored yet expectant—become metaphors of pause and possibility.
The chromatic tension between the cool blues… of twilight and the fervent warmth of artificial light embodies a fragile equilibrium, evoking both intimacy and distance. The painting transcends its referential city—Venice, or any water-bound place—and unfolds instead as a meditation on transition: the movement from dusk into night, from solitude into memory, from place into atmosphere.
In this work, the city is less a location than a state of mind: an inner geography illuminated by reflections, where permanence and impermanence coexist on the surface of the water.
