Mitro (born 1957 in Romania) is an internationally renowned painter, recognized for his role in contemporary figurative art. A graduate of the National University of Arts in Bucharest, he received extensive training in painting, sculpture and engraving. After gaining early recognition, he moved to France in 1990, where his career took on an international dimension.
His art is distinguished by the boldness of colors and the deconstruction of figurative forms, creating vibrant and poetic works. Inspired by life, nature and big cities, his work transcends borders and reaches a global audience.
Based in Normandy, Mitro continues to paint and exhibit internationally. His daughter Maria, who runs the Galerie Saint-André near Rouen, continues his artistic legacy.
