About this artwork
I created this work with vibrant energy, blending primal forms and dancing lines to capture a mysterious atmosphere. The contrast between the deep blue and the natural hues of the canvas evokes the connection between the soul and nature. This painting flows naturally and finds its references in the distant echoes of non-Western cultures.

« I like to see the viewer in front of my painting. He looks as if he's looking at himself in a mirror that I built myself. »
Mohamed Ben Soltane is a Tunisian visual artist and curator based in Montreal. His work blends painting, photography, mosaic, and installation. His artistic approach has evolved from a documentary gaze upon the walls of Tunis (The Walls of Tunis Speak, 2004–2009) to a dreamlike pictorial universe inhabited by hybrid figures, where color becomes a form of enchanted resistance.
He has exhibited his work in Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, the USA, Canada and elsewhere.
Her current work explores notions of decentering, memory and creation as a transcendental gesture, in a spirit of openness, transmission and re-enchantment of the world.
