The Inherited Stare marks the true beginning of M.J. Alkhoory’s artistic journey. During the stillness of the COVID-19 years, his wife encouraged him to visit Stockholm — one of the few cities still open. Beneath its quiet skies and along its metro corridors, each station bloomed with art. The sight of a city that carried beauty underground was enough to awaken something within him. On impulse, he bought paints and brushes — not with intent, but… curiosity. What emerged from that moment was this: his first completed painting.
