About this artwork
Cosmogony of Self is an intimate exploration of identity and spirituality, a deeply personal reflection on the search for divinity within. Rooted in early Cubist influences, the composition fractures and reassembles the self, creating a multidimensional portrayal of inner transformation. The stark black background serves as an abyss—both a void and a canvas for revelation—heightening the interplay of contrast and depth.
Gold and metallic finishes… shimmer against the darkness, evoking celestial energy, while the dynamic tension between ultra-matte and high-gloss textures adds a tactile richness, mirroring the duality of the material and the ethereal. Bright pinks pulse with raw emotion, igniting the canvas with intensity, while earthy ochres ground the piece, tying it to history and the organic essence of being.
