About this artwork
In The Guardian of Change, I represent the moment before transformation, when the soul has already understood that nothing will ever be the same. The female figure maintains a serene and firm gaze, aware of her role as protector of the transition between what was and what is yet to be born.
The butterflies on the kimono symbolize metamorphosis, the inevitable process of inner evolution. The planet emerging from her hair alludes to cosmic consciousness… and the understanding that all personal change is part of a greater movement.
This Arcana embodies the conscious vigilance of the transformation process: the woman who is not afraid of change, because she knows that she herself is the threshold.
Mónica Janer primarily uses acrylics and oils, enriching her background with a solid training in Fine Arts and Interior Design and over 25 years of experience. Her technique fuses figurative detail with dreamlike and vibrant atmospheres, employing intense colors and cosmic and natural symbolism, where the female figure is central. Her works convey hope, healing, and the power of inner transformation, inviting us to connect with the spiritual light within us all.
