About this artwork
Using oil, I have captured the radiant warmth of the quince, which glows against the cool, deep blue background. The impressionistic technique makes the fruit appear almost alive, as if it were releasing its fragrance. This work is intended to celebrate the simple beauty of the everyday and bring a fresh, sunny energy to your space.
Monika Köhler, painter from Berlin. I specialize in oil painting and live realism. In my work, in addition to the creative process and the selection of unusual motifs such as the light bulb, the sustainability of my works is particularly important to me. I only use the highest quality paints, mix them myself and apply them in multiple layers. I love working with bright colors. The paintings retain their value thanks to the multi-layer technique. I studied art history at the Free University of Berlin. I learned about image design and painting techniques in depth and developed them further during several stays in Italy (Tuscany, Volterra). In particular, I learned the technique of oil painting through my long-term collaboration with the award-winning Berlin painter Sabine Kasan (master student).
