Mzia Lekishvili is a Georgian painter working primarily with oil on canvas, blending academic training and personal exploration in Tbilisi. Before dedicating herself fully to painting, she worked in medicine.After more than 25 years as a physician, working within the precision of protocols and guidelines, Mzia unexpectedly discovered painting , despite having never tried before. It opened a space where uncertainty is allowed, and where mistakes do not necessarily require correction. Between 2022 and 2024, she completed a Master’s degree at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, further developing her visual language.
This experience deepened her interest in the human condition, vulnerability, and the quiet complexity of the body and mind. She harnesses contemporary figurative painting with elements of abstraction. Her art delicately captures the nuances of silence, introspection, and psychological presence.
