About this artwork
Mediterráneo was born from a desire to reflect the environment that surrounds me. It's my landscape, the one I grew up with: lemon trees, prickly pears, fig trees, pomegranates, medlars, and an endless array of flavors, smells, and colors. The Mediterranean has that special light that shines through nature, sculpting the fruits the earth gives us.
I wanted to portray all those sensations through watercolor, to hint at and leave space for our senses… to discover that Mediterranean scent, the beauty of the simple, the small, of that which is always there and goes unnoticed because we have already internalized it.
