About this artwork
The world around us is a cosmos in which everything is subject to strict rules and laws, has causal relationships. The only space in which Chaos truly reigns is the world of our thoughts, subconscious and dreams.
In the project, I would like to reveal the inner world of a modern person — the space between consciousness and the unconscious, which often appears to us as a confusing maze of disturbing images, obsessions and random associations. This… world is filled with thoughts, worries, white spots and an emptiness that is difficult to express rationally.
The art project consists of glass paintings visually displaying masks. Symbols and signs are applied to them, and cracks are made on the glass, thanks to which the meaning of the image can be interpreted in different ways. Cracks are created on the finished image, introducing an element of disorder and randomness. This is a reference to the ancient practices of oracles who read fortune on the bones of turtles and animals.
