About this artwork
This drawing was made in 2022, on my way back from Documenta in Kassel. I hadn’t planned to stay in Frankfurt at all, but something made me stop and take a walk. I always carry drawing tools with me, and this small detour turned into a quiet, unexpected encounter with the city. I worked quickly with Posca markers, following instinct rather than a plan, capturing the building as it revealed itself in that moment — solid, slightly dramatic, and very…
present. This sketch holds the feeling of an unplanned pause, when a place chooses you, not the other way around.
