The young… women is embarking on a journey with her red suitcase. We can only fantasise as to where she is going and why. The bird in the window symbolises freedom and an omen of good chance for the future. This figurative painting is inspired by a similar young women I captured in my memory from a train In London with her suitcase . She was gazing out of the window in a world of her own with a floppy hat shading her gaze.
