About this artwork
A winter seaside near Almería.
A deserted watchtower, a tranquil horizon, a suspended moment.
A ship lies offshore. Its red line is still visible above the water — light, free of any burden, not yet swept away by the movement.
There is a fragile interval where nothing is required.
Before weight. Before direction. Before becoming.
Soon it will be filled in, and the line will sink further, dissolving into the dark surface.
The heavier the ship,… the less visible it remains.
Perhaps we carry our weight in the same way.
This work is created using acrylic paint and superimposed transparent glazes, producing optical color effects that vary with the light and viewing angle.
Natalia Laletina works in a wide variety of mediums, from textiles to acrylic, oil, and epoxy resin, and works on a variety of supports thanks to a rich background in applied arts and design. She masters mixed techniques, combining superimposed optical effects similar to watercolor, experimenting with materials and styles ranging from realism to abstraction, while preserving a refined decorative sense. Through her works, she communicates the profound joy of inhabiting a world filled with beauty, sharing a contagious and poetic sense of wonder.
