About this artwork
artist statement
In my artistic practice I am dedicated to portrait painting and prefer to work with acrylic and oil paints on canvas. My aim is to capture the complexity of human faces in
unique way by combining abstraction and
naturalistic elements.
In my works, different layers overlap: The realistic depiction of the
Light meets an abstract interpretation of shadows. This duality reflects the inner conflict between order and unpredictability.… While the graphic representation of the face offers a clear structure, the free, uncontrolled painting allows space for emotions and spontaneous expressions.
Through this combination, I invite the viewer to look not only at the outside of a face, but also at the deeper emotions and stories it tells.
Natalija Usakova, a painter with a focus on portraiture, uses acrylic and oil paints on canvas. She skillfully combines abstraction with naturalistic elements and illuminates the duality of light and shadow. Her paintings embody inner conflict, combine order and unpredictability, and challenge the viewer to discover the hidden feelings and stories. Her works are dialogues between the known and the unknown - profound explorations of human identity.
