About this artwork
In this painting, I wanted to explore the duality of human nature and the roles we play in life. The central figure, a woman standing confidently, represents the tension between strength and vulnerability, freedom and societal expectations. Her "double heel" is a metaphor for the complex balance we navigate between being true to ourselves and conforming to the demands of the world around us.
The men at the table, their eyes covered, symbolize a… deliberate passivity—a refusal to engage deeply with their surroundings. The fragmented, geometric background in warm tones reflects the chaotic nature of our inner worlds, where emotions and intentions constantly collide.
Through this painting, I invite the viewer to reflect on the balance between personal freedom, social roles, and the authenticity of our choices in the modern world.
Natalya Grypas, marked by an artistic family legacy, captures the essence of human relationships in oil and acrylic. His style, Liberal Cubism, fuses cubist geometry with realistic touches, evoking reflection and depth. His works radiate the intrinsic value of human connection.
