About this artwork
In the 'Architecture of Affects' series, my research has focused on the city viewed as a modern hell, not in a spectacular sense, but as an allegory for the states of mind experienced throughout a lifetime. Through altered, almost mental urban landscapes, I explore notions such as submersion, fall, oppression, and saturation; this painting represents the moment when one gets lost in the 'Red Districts,' the disreputable areas of capital cities.
